Ok! So I've been working on trying to put the whole story together into videos, since it's so hard to find that information as it currently stands for an english speaker. I managed to get the prologue and chapter 1 done. I would appreciate advice and comments from anyone that still visits this forum!
I've spent too much time editing them to know if they're even any good or what to change if anything. I'm trying to be very tact about where I put what information.
The videos are unlisted until I am comfortable with the way it has been laid out.
Here's the prologue: [EDITED, FINAL VER]
And here's chapter 1 [EDITED, FINAL VER]
Chapter 2 [EDITED, FINAL VER]
Chapter 3 [EDITED, FINAL VER]
Chapter 4 [EDITED, FINAL VER]
Chapter 5 part 1,2 [edited, final ver]
Chapter 5 part 3 [edited, final ver]
Chapter 6 [edited, final ver]
Chapter 7 [edited, final ver]
Chapter 8 and epilogue
Any advice regarding music use, information placement, art use, or just the general approach would be appreciated.

I have looked at your videos and this really brilliant, the choices of sings/musics are really cool and perfect. The font of the text really enjoyable, it did catch my eye .
I do think however the display of the text does not appear long enough. Sometime you have to be pretty quick or you need to pause the video to make sure you can get read all of it. Not everyone read the same speed otherwise it is excellent keep going

Great, thanks. I was afraid of that but I also worried that I might just be a slow reader, I guess not lol. I'll try and make them slower and if I get a chance edit these to be a bit slower.

Productive day...before starting on masinowa I think info on Joah and L'erisia needs to be made clear. In my opinion it has to be done before Raison D'être and this is probably the best spot.
Still trying to figure out where I'm going to put information on the 8 races though... Anyways~4.5

The timing of the text display is much better Reading all of those make it more clear for new arrival.
By the way, don't forget to write " Raison D'être " like this because this is how it is written in French. The " ^ " on the E increase the sound of the letter

The videos are looking great so far, I haven't completely looked at all of them though. It is hard to give feedback about chapter 3 due to so many contradicting informations between older info and newer info, which is not anyone's fault as seriously, Blind Justice arc suffers the worst inconsistency out of all the Zektbach's arc. orz
However as far as I can see in the video, it is good for the 'summary' of the whole arc.

Took a break for finals...had some reluctance starting again because with Masinowa the official english site (saiyanserenity) ends abruptly so I had to spend a good ton of time putting all the info from various threads here, and whatever I could find on tumblr (searching through literal hundreds of posts tagged zektbach) to put it all together...you might notice I left a few things out but they seemed to be on vague, more or less irrelevant information that would be either confusing or just add a bunch of uneccessary time. Still, chapter 5 is huge and I haven't even got to Turii, which I'm about to get started on.
So here's most of chapter 5
edit: just realized "village hidden in the mists" is not jakotsu. damnit it fits so well here and it was on saiyanserenity so I didn't think twice until just now, re-reading chapter 7 stuff. I'll try to work something else in before setting it public (plus a few of the slides go too fast)

6 was pretty short...I don't think I missed anything though did I? Is there anything in the drama CD about it? I still don't actually own it.

I am not quite sure about putting the information about Kukaru lineage straight in the beginning. Since you are covering the discussion between Gijiri and Kukaru in the middle when this fact is revealed, couldn't this fact being told in this part instead straight at the start? You can just do intro of the Kukaru as being one of the member of the Sazaragi? This is because it gives the impression that Kukaru is upfront about his mixed blood status and then enter Sazaragi, but instead it is more that Kukaru is hiding it but Gijiri knows. So when Gijiri actually tell Kukaru about this, Kukaru is saying 'so you know, I didn't mean to hide it but..'
If I have to nitpick, Kukaru only told Gijiri about the house or estate his family came from (something along the line of: it is an estate in Konohana, the place is near the bridge and when flower blooms it is really beautiful etc) from the description Gijiri found out it is Misakuya's family line. But Kukaru himself never actually knows that Gijiri knows about Kukaru's family line. Kukaru might get a hint at the very end at Jakotsu when Gijiri said one word about Misakuya, but in the rush of the event I don't think Kukaru actually aware about Gijiri and his 'ancestor' connection/history.
And you might want to take out about the relationship between Kukaru, Gijiri and malchut. Kukaru and Malchut is inseparable, while Gijiri and Kukaru is like brothers though unfortunately it is more from Kukaru's side being looking up towards Gijiri? (Gijiri is pretty closed off to anyone after Ido is out of the picture) But Gijiri and Malchut is not close. While Kukaru and Malchut spend 2 years very closely together, Gijiri himself is doing his own agenda. Unfortunately them often being illustrated together does give wrong impression of being a close trio.
This still works and just minor detail to nitpick, but L'erisia actually told malchut to meet her at skyship ruins in the last 'encounter', which is in L'erisia dialogue before the scene of Kukaru's death.
As for chapter 6, as per my note in summary part of the drama CD, the drama CD ends at the destruction of Masinowa. So yeah chapter 6 onwards has nothing but short chapters or commentaries. Masinowa is the most elaborate due to lots of extra information given in the album booklet and the 2 CDs of the drama CD actually covers 2 parts of the epic. Blind Justice drama CD has 2 CDs though both are basically the same thing only from different POV and more extra information and epilogue are chosen to be revealed on CD2.

Thanks a ton! I'll consider it all.
Most of what I was going off of was just grammatically rephrasing and then copy/pasting from different threads so some info is repeated and some kind of seemed out of place but I don't know enough to ignore it. I thought it was weird myself putting the part about kukaru descending from Misakuya that early, then later saying "this is how he knows," and further I thought it was weird because I didn't imagine how Kukaru would know anything about Gijiri's history with Konohana so I didn't know exactly how it was figured out, but since I can't understand it I couldn't alter it. That info means a lot and I can make better adjustments.
So what kind of feelings does Gijiri have towards Kukaru? From what I can see he does seem pretty "closed off" but I know they were relatively close. When you say it's more of Kukaru looking up to him that makes it all come together more sensibly, but that makes me think it's a 1 sided relationship. So Kukaru really liked Gijiri, does Gijiri view Kukaru as "okay, well you aren't so bad" or more like someone he trusts a lot? Regarding the three of them, there is a lot of art with Malchut and Gijiri so I figured that in the short time after Kukaru before she left, she kind of followed him around, but I don't know any official documentation of that. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think there isn't anything official besides after Kukaru dies, somehow at sometime Malchut finds her way to ristaccia ruins. I left out artwork that portrays Gijiri as friendly with Malchut because I know he doesn't really have anything there for her but the art with all three of them (and with malchut leaning on apathetic gijiri) is so incredibly cute! I think after chapter 8 I'm going to throw in the info on the 8 races and the timeline and then just a bunch of cool artwork, some official but mostly fan, that doesn't really fit in any chapter (or would that be a bad idea?) so maybe it can go there instead.

which part are you referring to? I know in that clip of kukaru's death I put she talks to Malchut, is that where she says it? If so, is it mistaken that, in chapter 6 (when I think she's already at the ruins), she tells malchut to find her again? It was mentioned multiple times so from the impression I got, l'erisia told malchut to meet her 1. before kukaru dies, and 2. when she's at the ruins but not found l'erisia yet
So yeah I guess chapter 7 and 8 will be pretty short...I hope zektbach doesn't give up on this story because it would be cool to have a little more stuff put out (and a pv or two!)
Anyways, thanks a ton for actually going through them and helping me understand.
edit: who made the saiyanserenity site and info anyways?
Subject: Re: Video Compilation Fri Dec 27, 2013 9:44 pm
I think Gijiri relationship towards Kukaru is more like what you've said, "you are not so bad" kind of feel. In a sense they are more like real-life bro as in Kukaru goes all clingy and happy while Gijiri is the type of older bro that goes "My God you are annoying, please shut up for a second??" Gijiri's remark and comment when Kukaru in question is always snarky, and yet Kukaru just laugh it off. The difference between Gijiri with Ido is obvious, Gijiri and Ido is sort of like picture perfect bros, Gijiri actually confides to Ido and Ido genuinely cares about Gijiri. With Kukaru, Gijiri never actually shows 'trust' or actually relying on him. His attitude towards Kukaru is generally slightly more lenient compare to others subordinates, but nothing close to how he was towards Ido.
This is just purely my thoughts, but I think Gijiri has some kind of envy towards Kukaru? He knows Kukaru is a mixed blood right, even before knowing he is the descendant of Misakuya. Kukaru is like the living proof/result of what Gijiri wanted to achieve in the first place and unable to, a relationship between Yamaji and Kagachi. It is just adding more into the irony that he turns out to be the descendant of Misakuya.
You are correct, there is no records (or not yet translated?) on what happened during the time gap between the destruction of Masinowa until Malchut wanders to Ristaccia ruins. But I wouldn't want to put speculation in there on how Gijiri and Malchut are faring during this time gap. This kind of speculation being written out might mislead others thinking it into a canon information, I think this is the problem with a lot of confusion around Hannes and Nox relationship. It is a total blank, so it is possible that she follows Gijiri around. The only reason I think they go their own separate ways is the way the drama CD ends. Gijiri is literally on his way to kick Malchut out back to Turii. Isago was under Gijiri's order to bring malchut back to Turii, alas before she even steps out from masinowa she went berserk and destroying the place instead. Considering this fact and how Malchut is a 'poison' to Kagachi I wouldn't think that Gijiri will even let Malchut following him around. Considering there is no official records, I would just leave it to what is there. I kinda want to avoid the same confusion as the whole 'Hannes and Nox is married' thing lol.
I think you mentioned in the video about how L'erisia later told malchut to meet her at Skyship ruins, but this being mention right at the end of description on the first encounter. Basically there are 3 encounters: 1. L'erisia showing the end of all Star Children and the Turii tree -> Malchut shouted 'Miria' 2. L'erisia showing malchut snippet of the 'future' with all the short dialogues of the other main characters (Matin, Nox, Shamsir, Hannes) and this is when she told her she is the 'Red Angel' This is when Malchut starts questioning why this is all shown to her, if it is because she wasn't drown and washed away back then. 3. L'erisia spoutings stuff about the butterfly effect that has taken place (on malchut being saved and ruined the balance of the world) and at the end told malchut to meet her at the ruins.
Another thing is when Gijiri said about 'Mixed blood is trash' kind of line. This is another thing why I avoid putting proper writing because I picked up some stuff but not complete enough to explain in writing. However, Gijiri wasn't saying the line directly to Kukaru, but to others. But Kukaru was there to hear the line from Gijiri's mouth and this hurts Kukaru. Well Kukaru did confirm it straight away if he really means the words and Gijiri did confirm it, then straight away Gijiri does the Snake exorcism. Basically during the untranslated part, I only picked up bits that Gijiri is trying to control Inumikado into marrying his daughter who is the future prospect of Tenjin no Miko to a Kagachi? Basically he is behind the scheme of the Kunue no hime is a mixed blood kid and for this Inumikado bears a grudge. During the scene where Kukaru ends up covering for Gijiri, Inumikado was trying to blow Gijiri covers by telling everyone he was the one killing tenjin no miko and Sazaragi was deceiving whole masinowa, but everyone is just being confused as the years don't match (obviously they don't know Gijiri is immortal) Anyway I picked bits but not complete so I try to avoid saying it out since it might be wrong/different.
The site is made by Saiyanserenity or 'Hannes Farrugia' here? The first info that was used on the site was firstly translated by someone back in bemani forum era. I forgot his exact user name as it was DJSS.. or something *_*; Then as you do, Saiyanserenity rephrase it into better format. As for the recent one it is all joint effort between Ido (in this forum) and me.

Thanks, I need to learn japanese so bad. I took a year to learn chinese because I was told it would be so much more useful. But I haven't actually used it. The only cases it's come in use is recognizing the japanese characters that are shared by Chinese (even though they're pronounced different but I can tell what it means). But that doesn't help a whole lot.
The info you have is really good, a lot of that isn't written anywhere currently that I could find. Partly because, as you said, you guys don't have a clear enough understanding to try and draw connections between vague bits of information, which is also why I kind of left out a few things because what is written isn't complete enough and just looks confusing and not important to the plot to make it worth including yet.
When you say
Quote :
Basically there are 3 encounters:
when did the part about showing bits of the future happen? That sounds really interesting but I haven't seen that until now.
What does "tenjin no miko" mean? I get a vague impression but I left out the "scheming" part on the power struggle because I couldn't figure out what kind of scheming was going on. The info you give makes a lot of sense of that but I don't know exactly what these titles are. It has something to do with the sacred houses? Who is Inumikado, a leader of one of the houses? I think it's related, but the timeline says
Quote :
The mysterious death of the 15th generation Heavenly god child (Tenjin no Ko) Amatsu Kunue no Himemiko was carried out.
but I can't really tell what that means either.
I hope you don't mind typing all this, it's so informative.

Subject: Re: Video Compilation Thu Jan 02, 2014 5:22 am
Late reply as usual. As for chapter 7, can you remove the part about Zektbach being part of Milian tribe?
This is my fault because I never really translate or read the Pop'n music commentary thing until the The Sealer. But looks like it is just the way Tomosuke always playfully open the commentary. Like in other chapter it would be like 'hi this is Zektbach of xxx' in accordance to the song he is commenting, in which in The Sealer's case it is 'Zektbach of the Milian tribe'
I am putting an edit note on my original post as well ><;
In regards to Masinowa, I haven't really look deep into their structure, but basically Tenjin no Miko is some sort of the leader/high priestess of Masinowa? I think it is basing on old Japan where a miko will receive word of wisdom from 'Gods' and thus the people will follow whatever word of wisdoms the miko received. Omg I am lacking of better words on explaining this lol.
In short without going into much details as I possibly get those details incorrect too: Gijiri is manipulating Inumikado through his some kind of Kagachi's sorcery, and Inumikado then slowly starts spreading more 'teaching' on Kagachi's culture? Adding Gijiri's scheme to get Inumikado's daughter to marry a Kagachi then basically he is spreading/corrupting Masinowa with more and more influence from Kagachi.
The second encounter is during Malchut's sleep. Storywise it doesn't provide much other than makes fans thinking, 'wait a second did L'erisia just shown snippet of the future to malchut?' This happens before Gijiri and Isago return from Turii.
I think it is great that you understand chinese, I am jealous lol. It would make so much easier for me if I can get the hurdle out from kanji, so with Japanese I am better at listening than reading. Though unfortunately when you encounter new words with listening only you can't pinpoint the exact words unless you have some idea what it is about. If we have in writing even if you can't read or know it you can look into it in for certain from the kanji. But then again I am not smart to begin with hence a very snail-pace growth >.>;;;

Thanks for all the info Matin. And Jezza, I considered it (and will maybe try to put it somewhere else) but I think most people will discover zektbach from YT and therefore hopefully find the storyline on YT as well.
Quick question regarding chapter 3. We have translated "disguised Matin" as Lucis, but I think it is supposed to be "Lux," as that word means light in Latin, and it sounds like it's pronounced that way as well.
Subject: Re: Video Compilation Thu Jan 02, 2014 11:35 pm
I don't know about Latin and as there is no official Romaji of Matin's disguised name I can be wrong.
My guess for Lucis instead of Lux is the katakana used which is RU.KI.SU. If Lux is pronounced like lux from luxury, then the katakana I can think of would be RU.KU.SU. Just like NOX is NO.KU.SU. Maybe Tomosuke just grab it from Lux lucis and use Lucis since it is sounding prettier than Lux?

Oh clever observation. I'm really surprised it isn't "lux" but when you hit ルーキス into google it does show up "Lucis" so you were spot on.
